While I’m waiting, I’m getting stronger my faith is rising and I will run on
While I’m waiting, I’m lifting up on wings on eagles
I believe I will trust in you
I don’t know about you, but waiting. And not just waiting, patiently waiting is a hard task that I wish I could avoid. Sometimes it’s hard to accept that something you need right now is not meant to be yours just yet. In a world where we usually work for things, and then get them in our own appointed time. Or don’t work for things but feel entitled to them. However, in most cases your timing is not in sync with God’s timing which means that things don’t happen the way and when you intend it to. Stress!!!!
The irony is, the true testing of our faith. Faith in God, therefore believing in what we cannot see but being hopeful that it will manifest. Is the period of waiting and actively being patient. it is during those times where it feels like God isn’t listening to us, things are falling apart or nothing is happening at all. It is at this point that we can truly demonstrate “hope” and “faith” which stems from the “confidence” we have in God.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see
– Hebrews 11:1
This scripture above reinforces how the waiting period is an opportunity to put this “faith”, “hope” and “assurance” that we have in God which then enables us to believe in the things that we cannot see into practice. Travis Greene puts it in these words:
What my eyes can’t see I still believe
Everything spoken to me
There’s no word that can come back void
I will trust the report of the Lord
During the waiting period, we are meant to mediate on the things that God has said concerning us, acknowledge the fact that God has never said anything that has come back void, it has also achieved and manifested what it said it would and once we do this all we have to do is put this faith into action and trust “the report of the Lord”.
The take home message from this short article is basically that the waiting period is not necessarily a bad thing. It is an opportunity to put this faith and trust we claim we have in God into action. And if we discover that we don’t actually have these qualities and we find that it’s easier for us to doubt God and undermine him. This gives us a chance to ask God for help to believe in him regardless of what we are going through. And when we are able to do this, we are granted the privilege of an unexplainable kind of peace.
In addition to this, we are also given strength to continue. Momentum to excel And the resources to overcome.
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint
– Isaiah 40:31
Don’t underestimate or avoid the waiting process. Embrace it. It’s all part of the journey.
Note to self and note to you.
Stay blessed and stay tuned,
